1st Bee-Day Party

I decided to do a Bumble Bee theme for my daughter's first birthday last year. I loved this party so much that I took A TON of pictures and just had to share them! YAY! I ordered the invitations, banners, labels, table signs, and other decorations from Paper Follie, and Avery's birthday outfit from Christi Creations. It was a huge relief not to make all of it. They were both fabulous to work with and the products were even cuter than I imagined!

Here was the invite

The birthday girl on her special day!

This beehive door hanger welcomed everyone to the party
I had been wanting to do a candy buffet for some time, and figured now was my perfect chance. I had somewhat of a hard time finding a good selection of yellow and black candy, mostly from a few supply stores in Salt Lake and then a couple online. Here is the treat table. I had so much fun decorating it, just looking at it makes me smile!

Sugar cookies with fondant bee's. You can purchase bee's on my esty shop.

Bumble Bee cake pops that I made to match the cake

Beehive cake and Bumble Bee smash cake

The beehive was 4 layers of vanilla cake iced in vanilla buttercream, covered with yellow fondant, and decorated with fondant bumble bees and flowers.

Smash cake was iced in yellow buttercream with black fondant stripes and sugar paper wings
I found some cute bumble bee fabric at walmart and covered the high chair. I hung a banner that matched the rest of the invites on the front.

Drinks and more treats

Popcorn cones

We didn't play any games, since it was Avery's birthday, I just had a simple craft for all the kids. They each made an antenna using a headband, pipe cleaners, and pom poms. They chose whatever colors they wanted and then I helped glue the pom poms on with the hot glue gun.

They actually turned out pretty cute and all the kids really enjoyed them. They all started acting like little bumble bees and running around "making honey" and stinging all of the adults, it was kinda cute. Here is my little honey in her antennas...

For the party favors, I found empty honey bear bottles online and filled them with candy and put a cute little tag.

Some were filled with yellow m&m's for the older kids, and other were filled with cheerios for the little ones.

Here is a close up of the tags. One side had a bee and the other had a little thank you, so cute!

    1. If you are familiar with fondant and covering cakes, then yes it is pretty easy :) I guess it just mainly depends on your experience. Please let me know if you have any other questions and hope to help!
